Proverbs 22:3 NLT

A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions. The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences.

there is a decay of conscience, the pulpit is responsible for it))) --

Growing Number Of Farm Animals Spawn New DiseasesA growing number of livestock, such as cows and pigs, are fuelling new animal epidemics worldwide and posing more severe problems in developing countries as it threatens their food security, according to a report released on Friday. Epidemics in recent years, such as SARS and the H1N1 swine flu, are estimated to have caused billions of dollars in economic costs. Get ready for higher food pricesWarnings of higher food prices headed for American supermarkets and restaurants were swallowed easily across much of farm country Wednesday. The big gulp came when the U.S. Department of Agriculture reported that global demand had pushed U.S. corn supplies to their lowest point in 15 years. The price of corn, which has doubled over the past six months, affects most food products in supermarkets. It's used to feed the cattle, hogs and chickens that fill the meat aisles.

Ex-Scientologist Haggis Speaks Out on "Cult"One of the Church of Scientology's most notable members - the Oscar- and Emmy-winning writer-director Paul Haggis ("Million Dollar Baby," Crash") - resigned from the church in 2009 out of anger over the church's implicit support of California's Proposition 8, the ban on same-sex marriage. Now, in a lengthy New Yorker investigative article by Lawrence Wright, Haggis speaks publicly for the first time about the reasons behind his defection, including charges that the church - which he now describes as a "cult" - engages in practices that exploit minors

Porno Filmed On Public Miami Beach Island In Broad DaylightThe Henry Flagler Memorial on Monument Island recently made what is likely its first ever cameo in an adult movie, and history buffs - and city officials - are not entertained. When Miami-Dade voters agreed to spend $1 million to restore the Flagler Memorial on Monument Island, many hoped the beautification of one of the county’s most revered historic structures would attract new visitors. But probably not porn stars. The lushly landscaped island between the Venetian and MacArthur causeways, which boasts a 110-foot obelisk honoring Florida pioneer Henry Flagler, is now the backdrop...

London Museum Goes Wild With Animal Sex ShowA museum in London is throwing caution to the wind for an exhibition on sex in the animal kingdom complete with copulating chimps and randy rabbits -- just in time for Valentine's Day. "Sexual Nature" at the Natural History Museum explores the diverse ways in which animals have evolved to procreate, such as a snail's love darts, the detachable penis of the paper nautilus, or the outsized testes of the promiscuous chimp. The exhibition, which opens on Friday, also looks at human sexual behaviour in the context of other species. "We ask visitors to leave their preconceptions at the door," curator Tate Greenhalgh told AFP.

Leprosy, Plagues Come To NYWhen New York City’s health department revealed last weekend that three people had contracted cholera, it was a reminder that the city is not just a world capital of arts, business and the like — but also of exotic diseases. If a disease has cropped up in the world, there is a good chance it will eventually find its way to New York City through the diverse travelers who cross the city’s borders. For instance, several people every year are found to have a biblical disease, leprosy, though health officials say no one has to fear catching it in the subway. In 2002, bubonic plague, more commonly associated with the 14th century, found its way to...

Biggest Bear Ever FoundThere's a new titleholder for the biggest, baddest bear ever found. A prehistoric South American giant short-faced bear tipped the scales at up to 3,500 pounds (1,600 kilograms) and towered at least 11 feet (3.4 meters) standing up, according to a new study. The previous heavyweight was a North American giant short-faced bear—a related extinct species—that weighed up to 2,500 pounds (1,134 kilograms). The largest bear on record in modern times was a 2,200-pound (998-kilogram) polar bear shot in Alaska in the 19th century.
