Josef Stalin would be proud....Federal agents take U.S. Marine to psychiatric hospital after posting criticism of government on FaceBook
A 26 year old former Marine has been ordered to undergo a psychiatric evaluation after being detained for alleged threats he made on Facebook. Brandon Raub, who lives in Chesterfield, Virginia, was detained last Thursday after being questioned by law enforcement about his postings. “Sharpen up my axe; I’m here to sever heads.” Raub posted to Facebook on August 13, 2012. The post appears to be a lyric from the band Swollen Members and its song “Bring Me Down.” The case has pitted First Amendment freedoms against potential security concerns. Raub, who served tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, was questioned by the FBI, U.S. Secret Service and Chesterfield County Police last Thursday and was then taken into custody by the Chesterfield County Police Department. At a court hearing on Monday Raub was...---Officials arrest Wash. man over Obama threat

Hank Williams Jr. calls Obama a Muslim who ‘hates the U.S.’ at Iowa concert
Country crooner Hank Williams Jr. probably won't be invited to the Inaugural Ball if President Obama is reelected. Playing before a crowd of 8,500 at the Iowa State Fair on Friday night, Williams once again ripped the president, labeling him a Muslim who "hates the U.S.," the Des Moines Register reported. After playing his song “We Don’t Apologize For America,” Williams made his political views clear about Obama - who's actually Christian, but whose father practiced Islam. “We’ve got a Muslim president who hates farming, hates the military.../
Lesbian who reported 'hate crime' attack staged incident, Nebraska police say
(CNN) -- A Nebraska "hate crime" that targeted an openly gay woman and that triggered responses from candlelight vigils locally to Facebook postings of support nationwide was staged by the alleged victim, authorities said Tuesday as they charged the woman with lying to police. Charlie Rogers -- a former basketball player for the University of Nebraska who identifies herself as lesbian -- told police that three masked men entered her home on July 22, stripped her, tied her down, and carved homophobic slurs into her body before.../

---Top Iran official: If Israel attacks, it will bring about its own 'annihilation'
An Israeli attack on Iran will lead to Israel's "annihilation," a senior Iranian official told the country's state-run TV station Press TV on Monday, ahead of the Non-Aligned Movement summit due to take place in Tehran later this month. The comment, by former head of Iran's Revolutionary Guard Mohsen Rezaei, came after, last week, the head of the Revolutionary Guard's air force said that a possible Israeli airstrike against his country's nuclear facilities is "welcome" because it would give Iran a reason to retaliate and "get rid of" the Jewish.../
China bubble in 'danger zone' warns Bank of Japan
“China is now entering the 'danger zone’,” said Kiyohiko Nishimura, the Bank of Japan’s deputy-governor and an expert on asset booms. The surge in Chinese home prices and loan growth over the past five years has surpassed extremes seen in Japan before the Nikkei bubble popped in 1990. Construction reached 12pc of GDP in China last year; it peaked in Japan at 10pc. Mr Nishimura said credit and housing booms can remain “benign” so long as the workforce is young and growing. They turn “malign” once the ratio of working age.../

Record radiation in Fukushima fish
A PAIR of greenlings have shown the highest level of radioactive caesium detected in fish and shellfish caught in waters off Japan's crippled Fukushima nuclear power plant, its operator said today. The fish, captured 20 kilometres off the plant on August 1, registered 25,800 becquerels of caesium per kilo, Tokyo Electric Power Co. The previous record in fish and shellfish off Fukushima was 18,700 becquerels per kilo detected in cherry salmons, according to the.../

Green tea extract 'eradicates cancer tumours'
The University of Strathclyde team made 40 per cent of human skin cancer tumours disappear using the compound, in a laboratory study. Green tea has long been suspected of having anti-cancer properties and the extract, called epigallocatechin gallate, has been investigated before. However, this is the first time researchers have managed to make it effective at shrinking tumours. Previous attempts to capitalise on its cancer-fighting properties have failed because scientists used intravenous drips, which failed to deliver enough of the extract.../
