Libyan Leaks: Secret Document reveals Al-Qaeda ‘brother’ put in control of U.S. Embassy in Tripoli
A treasure trove of secret documents has been obtained by a Libyan source who says that secularists in his country are increasingly wanting to see Mitt Romney defeat Barack Obama on November 6th. This charge is being made despite Muslim Brotherhood losses in Libyan elections last July which resulted in victory for the secularists. One of those documents may help explain this sentiment. It shows that in supporting the removal of Gadhafi, the Obama administration seemed to sign on to an arrangement that left forces loyal to Al-Qaeda in charge of security at the U.S. embassy in Tripoli from 2011 through at least the spring of 2012. The National Transitional Council, which represented the political apparatus that opposed Gadhafi in 2011 and served as the interim government after his removal, made an extremely.../
Russia warns West on Syria
RUSSIA has warned that the "bloodbath" in Syria will continue if the West sticks to its demand for President Bashar al-Assad's ouster. "If the position of our partners remains the departure of this leader who they do not like, the bloodbath will continue," Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said after talks with his French counterpart Laurent Fabius. The nearly 20-month conflict in Syria has killed 36,000 people according to activists. Fabius also said France and Russia failed to bridge their differences over Assad's role in any future transition government.../
Women: Sen. Bob Menendez paid us for sex in the Dominican Republic
Two women from the Dominican Republic told The Daily Caller that Democratic New Jersey Sen. Bob Menendez paid them for sex earlier this year. In interviews, the two women said they met Menendez around Easter at Casa de Campo, an expensive 7,000 acre resort in the Dominican.../
New Yorkers Search for Food, Water and Electricity
The people gathered around the side of a building on Third Avenue looked like refugees huddled around a campfire. But instead of crackling flames, their warmth came from more advanced technology: a power strip that had been offered to charge cellphones. It was a sign of just how desperate for electricity some New Yorkers have become since Superstorm Sandy darkened parts of the city. Among the crowd was Patrick Dugan, who resorted to using a pay phone Wednesday as he trekked uptown from his powerless apartment, seeking.../

The euro is heading for a permanent state of depression
A year ago, monetary union looked as if it was heading for certain death, with the European banking system in apparent meltdown and extreme divergence in monetary conditions across the single currency area. In all but name, monetary union had already ceased to exist. Action by the ECB, first with the cash-for-debt Long Term Refinancing Operation and, more recently, the promise of unlimited bond purchases, has succeeded in stilling the waters, at least to some degree. Even a Greek exit seems, for the time being, to be off the table. With more.../
Precious Metal Abroad Why Germany Wants to See its US Gold
Bundesbank President Jens Weidmann wanted to personally convince Peter Gauweiler that the German gold was still where it should be. Early this summer, the head of Germany's central bank took the obstinate politician from the conservative Christian Social Union (CSU), a party that is a member of the government coalition in Berlin, and a number of his colleagues into the Bundesbank's inner sanctum: the gold vault. There, 6,000 gold bars are stacked on industrial-strength shelves in a purpose-built building in Frankfurt. An additional 76,000 bars of.../

Sinkhole swallows 20'x80' chunk of land
BAYOU CORNE, LA (WAFB) - The massive sinkhole plaguing south Louisiana continues to grow, as it has "eaten" another large section of land. The Assumption Parish Police Jury reported the latest slough in on its blog Tuesday evening. Officials stated a 20 feet by 80 feet chunk located on the east side of the sinkhole collapsed. It had been several weeks since the giant sinkhole had claimed more land. About 500 square feet of earth was lost on Oct. 9./

Local Reporter Tells TheBlaze: ‘I’m 100 Percent Positive’ Crowds Were Chanting ‘Hail Obama!’ at First Lady Rally
UPDATE (10:25 p.m. ET): In an exclusive interview with TheBlaze, WOFL Fox 35 reporter Mike Synan said he is “100 percent positive” that the crowds were chanting “Hail Obama!” at the event. Further, he said there were at least three or four other local TV stations at the event that heard it as well. “We all started talking about it after my tweet started getting attention,” he told TheBlaze. Everyone was “in agreement” about what was being chanted and many agreed it was “tacky.” People have questioned Synan’s claim, some because they are Obama.../
New Jersey to deploy military trucks to serve as polling places
MOONACHIE, N.J. – New Jersey will deploy military trucks to serve as polling places on Election Day in storm-battered communities, the state secretary of the state announced Thursday during a visit to this flood-ravaged town. The state is also extending the deadline on mail-in ballots. Department of Defense trucks will be parked at regular polling places that have lost power, as long as the sites are still accessible. Paper ballots will be used. Republican Secretary of State and Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno said voters will find "a DOD truck with a well-situated.../

The Benghazi Drip-Drip-Drip
As he left his Marine One helicopter Wednesday evening and walked to the residence of the White House, President Obama did not respond to a question shouted out by ABC News’s Mary Bruce about when he would begin to provide answers to the numerous questions building up about what exactly what went wrong in Benghazi, Libya, on September 11, 2012. The president smiled and continued walking. Perhaps he couldn’t hear the question over the din of the chopper’s blades, but either way the smile and wave – almost Reagan-esque in style...---Sen. 'Troubling' Surveillance Before Benghazi Attack
BENGHAZI, Libya — More than six weeks after the shocking assault on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi -- and nearly a month after an FBI team arrived to collect evidence about the attack - the battle-scarred, fire-damaged compound where Ambassador Chris Stevens and another Foreign Service officer lost their lives on Sept. 11 still holds sensitive documents and other relics of that traumatic final day, including drafts of two letters worrying that the compound was under "troubling" surveillance and complaining that the Libyan government failed to.../

The famed hot springs of Haida Gwaii have gone dry, apparently a casualty of last week's major earthquake. Parks Canada officials at Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve and Haida Heritage Site said all four of the popular geothermal pools are empty. It's not yet known whether the source of underground hot water has been permanently cut off or whether the loss is temporary. Hot springs are normally found near fault lines, such as the Queen Charlotte Fault, the site of Saturday's 7.7-magnitude earthquake. The springs are created when.../
