Death Panel Prelude in VA
Scandal
Whenever someone in the current administration opens the mouth, you not
only have to parse the words but also understand the doublespeak inherent in the
individual's sell-out to the corruption that clings to Obama more diligently
than his shadow.
There has been a ton of coverage on the radio talk shows and the idiot box
about the VA's infamous and, by the VA charter, illegal waiting lists due to the
deaths of several veterans directly attributed to their placement on the waiting
lists. Originally the VA denied any such thing existed. Now it has acknowledged
the practice goes back decades.
Why the waiting list? It was a matter of budgetary concerns. The VA
administrators couldn't handle the influx of claims and still meet the budget
goals necessary to "obtain bonus pay". They couldn't handle the claims and still
meet service quality necessary to "obtain bonus pay." Veterans died so the
administrators could take home more bucks from their already outrageously
overpaid jobs.
The reason for this outrage is entirely due to costs and, to the officials'
thinking, arbitrary goals set by their higher ups.
Don't look now but that type of uncaring care is about to hit every
American. It is coming in the hideous monster cunningly described as the
Patient Affordable Care Act.
The rationale for the VA administrators to do what they did was to garner
extra take-home pay. In the ACA those equate to the Republican labeled "death
panels."
Immediately after the first airing of the term death panel, Obama went into
overdrive denouncing the fact. For more than three months he attacked the
opposition for "using scare tactics." Even some Republican Representatives in
Congress who voted for the bill denied the provision was there. But they got
called on it in public meetings by people who had slogged through the fine print
in the massive bill.
Even when confronted with the facts, those Republicans in Congress denied
that language was there when they "voted on the bill" but was added by the joint
Senate-House compromise committee. If that is the case, then the bill should
have been resubmitted for approval because neither section of Congress actually
voted on the bill that was official. Since then Obama has changed the bill at
his own discretion, rendering it unconstitutional by any definition of the word
except of how the Supreme Court twisted things.
True, the term death panel never directly appeared the Act's language. But
there was an oversight committee whose sole purpose was to "keep cost overruns
from occurring." This oversight committee was not made up of doctors but
accountants and economists. Number crunchers of the same ilk that have now
appeared in charge of what has become the never-ending waiting lists that have
led to deaths in the VA ranks.
Those people, who caused even a single death, should be charged with at
least second-degree murder, forfeit all benefits accrued and spend the rest of
their lives in an 8x8 cell without the possibility of parole.
The hard lesson that none of the talking heads has yet had the courage to
opine publicly, is this is what is coming to us all, unless of course you have
the wealth to circumvent the provisions of the ACA.
In the VA, the care followed the chain of command downward as it appears
generals were never denied immediate access to the care they had earned.
Privates, corporals, sergeants and lieutenants were at the bottom of the pecking
order. It also appears the older the vet applying for care was a factor in being
moved to the waiting list as was the relative health of the individuals' overall
medical needs.
This, in retrospect, is what is coming to the rest of the population
through Obamacare provisions. When patient medical needs exceed that accounting
period's budget or time constraints, we'll be placed on an undeclared,
unrecognized, undocumented waiting list so some fat-butt bureaucrat can get a
bonus for "meeting target goals."
In one way Obama was right. If you like your healthcare plan, you can keep
it. If you like your doctor you can keep him. It is easy to keep those promised
lies when they have no intention of letting you get better but place you on the
waiting list for as long as it takes for you to die.
Couldn't this VA revelation also be a sure way to keep those with opposing
views of the current Administration silent or at least make them go silent
quicker by denying medical care? Political enemies or even those classified as
part of Silent Majority could be specifically targeted for the uncaring clutches
of a waiting list.
Doesn't that possibility, however, make every member of Congress who voted
for a bill that wasn't written and therefore couldn't be read, every
spokesperson who has extolled Obamacare virtues and greatness and every state
official who has helped set up the exchanges--active participants in and
enabling parties to the coming murders in our wreckage of a health care system?
All I'm asking for is to be called for jury duty when that first case hits
the docket because I will give the defendant(s) the justice he (they) deserve
for enabling this murderous bill to see the light of day. I assure you, there
will be no room on any waiting list.
