Money Supply Shrinks Value
Examine the fancy numbers all you want about the state of the economy and one thing becomes blatantly clear, America is no better off now than it was when the housing bubble broke in November, 2007.
There are literally thousands of economic analysts who are now claiming the U.S. economy is in deflation, slumping or nearing recession levels. They dance around government policy like veteran flamenco dancers trying to prove their point from a perspective different than the rest.
From the number of people filing first-time claims for unemployment benefits to the consumer confidence level to the rise or fall of the Gross Domestic Product (still figured inaccurately) to the state of the housing market to the alarming number of failing businesses, there is something there for anyone with a basic education in economics to grab onto and predict doom and gloom.
I am no different. But I simply compare the currency in circulation now to currency in circulation of the past. The reason is the money supply is a definitive way to calculate devaluation of currency and to determine how much a dollar from 2010 is worth compared to today's dollar.
On December 31, 2010, the U.S. Federal Reserve balance sheets showed just about $1.6 trillion in circulation. This was due to the Toxic Asset Relief Program of the Bush Administration and the first stimulus package under Obama's watch. Today the U.S. Fed shows about $4.5 trillion in circulation--nearly three times as much.
That means every dollar you had at the end of 2010 is worth almost three dollars today because we have nothing more of tangible value now than we did at the end of 2010..
Now ask yourself, has your income grown by three times in those intervening 50 months? If not, you are in worse shape, financially, than you were just 50 months ago. One reason you don't feel it is, compared to the rest of the world's political fiat economy hegemony, the U.S. fiat is still king.
Therefore the train wreck coming at America is worse than the bureaucrats or politicians can grasp. While the money supply has grown by 281 percent, the exchange of currency has not grown to match, that is why we haven't felt the full impact of the devaluation of the currency yet in inflationary terms and will not until the government tries to pull back the excess printing press run to avoid too much inflation.
The inflationary spike from the pullback will make the 1979 Carter inflation rate of 21% seem like a cakewalk. That is also why under Reagan's spending programs, the current administration can claim "others have run up larger debts." As a percent of money in circulation, yes, as a percent of true GDP, no.
The Fed is cheering the 2.2% 2014 fourth quarter gain in GDP as a sign that, while still struggling, the economy continues to make 'positive strides'.
Just to keep up with the misguided printing press run numbers the fourth quarter should have netted nearly 16.8% gains.
By this logic the economy continued to shrink by more than 14% in the fourth quarter, just because of the additional currency available, not grow.
Another point of reference is the stock market. The Dow Jones Industrial Average moved high enough in 2009 to technically eliminate the recession. By the end of 2010 it had climbed to 11,600, still some 2500 points below the pre-recession peak. Now it is "soaring along" about 18,200. But on the money supply alone, dollar for dollar, the DJIA should be north of 32,500 to be at the level it was on Dec. 31, 2010.
In case you are wondering, in terms of the 2010 dollar that is 123% less than it should be.
America's economy doesn't have a cold, it has a life-threatening cancer. That's why Main Street looks sick--it is.
This additional currency input made from thin air, is indigestible, particularly for a civilization accustomed to abundance. It is why central bankers around the globe are prescribing more of the same. They know the global economic patient is sick and think the cure is more money.
We don't need more. Any lab rat test tells you indisputably too much of anything is bad for the patient. We need the central bankers to thwart the impulse to print and let the market find its own balance spots for that particular moment.
We need governments, across the globe to let things be.
But their response is "We know best. We have to do something!!!" By doing something they are making the situation worse.
The patient--the economy--is sick and needed to correct excesses caused partially by government policy of no limits. Instead it got a printing press run and a mountain of regulation that does nothing. Now it has to be weaned from both excesses.
Economic cycles have to be allowed to roam. Mitigating those cycles' effects may seem great to the government people currently facing them but it only makes the road ahead worse. Every aspect of history teaches us that. The old, worn-out trees must be eliminated if the forest is to flourish. Political policy kept that from happening in the economy seven years ago.
For that our economy still suffers.

associate that this killing is a set up of Putin.
The beta testing of the grid outages here in the US preceded this and were
dry runs to prevent the story from getting out when operation lightning
happens on a large scale here.
Time is running out for outspoken patriots. This Russian assisination will
be used by our government as the cuasis belli to initiate operation
lightning under the guise of killing patriots to blame Putin for
retaliation against US and the West of trying to frame him for a crackdown
inside Russia. Putin has already said this assisination was politically
motivated.
Point is, we are now INSIDE Russia, not Ukraine, fomenting regime change.
And what a perfect excuse to start seeing American patriots winding up dead
