Spokane Sheriff Ozzie Knezovich’s warning of far-right extremism - Knezovich says he’s tired of questions about “FEMA camps,” where the government will allegedly imprison Americans once it launches an attack that’s been predicted for years but never occurs. He’s had it with the presumed plot to confiscate people’s firearms. He’s even been asked about a rumor that President Barack Obama has plans to order a hit on Tennessee police officers.
“It is sad how many people believe this stuff. It really is.”

I wanted to share something with you that is going on here today and yesterday. I live in Utah, one of the two states officially declared, “hostile” in JADE HELM 15. My family and I live about 75 miles north of Salt Lake City, in a good size valley, surrounded by mountains. There is a quiet joke here in the valley that one could turn the valley upside-down, and it would rain guns for three days. I think that is understating things a bit myself.
Anyway, I took my son to lunch today. We went to El Toro Viejo, a decent, sit-down Mexican restaurant in the downtown area of this town of 50,000. As I walked in the front door, and tell the hostess that we need a table for two, she tells me that the Credit/debit card reader is down, and taps the counter-top unit. She says she called the processor, and was told that it should be up again in just a few minutes. I said I was planning to pay with cash anyway, so no problem.
We had our burritos and quesadillas, and enjoyed our lunch. As we were eating, I told my son, 10, that I thought it was strange that the Credit card payment system was down, given other things going on in the country lately, and that it had been gnawing on me. He asked, “do you think it is something like what happened to the NYSE, a few days ago. And United Airlines?" I was surprised that a 10-year old had been paying attention to this stuff. And, I mulled his question over in my mind.
We paid our bill, with cash, and the waitress brought us our change. As I walking out I asked the gal at the front desk if the CC payment system was back up. She said, yes, that it was only down for 20 minutes. I asked her if that happened often. She said no — it hadn’t happened since they opened up their new location in August, 2014. But, she said in passing, it happened yesterday too — it was down for about 20 minutes.
Both times the outages were during the lunch hour. Two days in a row. Starting on the day that Jade Helm kicked off.
Maybe it was nothing. Maybe it was a little piece in a bigger puzzle. I’d be interested in hearing if other retail establishments are having CC processing issues. I can’t help but think, “Dry run.”

PuertoRico misses its first debt payment as its default risk rises - Puerto Rico is in need of cash because investors have effectively closed the island’s access to the capital markets by demanding high interest rates
It’s unclear whether the Public Finance Corp. will pay $36.3 million of bonds maturing that day. If it doesn’t, that would mark the first time Puerto Rico has defaulted on a debt payment and would come as the commonwealth seeks to negotiate with creditors to restructure $72 billion of obligations.
The missed transfer underscores the fiscal squeeze on the U.S. commonwealth, which is pushing for Congress to allow some of its public corporations to file for Chapter 9 bankruptcy protection.
The Public Finance Corp. owes about $1 billion of debt repaid through legislative appropriation, according to the Government Development Bank, which works on the island’s debt sales.
